Pay It Forward

The other day I was rushing to work on my bicycle and while I was stopped at a light, this older woman smiled at me warmly and said “hello”. A few weeks ago while driving home from New Jersey a stranger ahead of me in the toll line paid for me. I rolled the car up to pay yet another toll and the attendant informed me that it had already been taken care of. I have no idea who these people are and it doesn’t matter. With all the unsettling events transpiring in the world, it was comforting to see that there is still good surrounding us. These small acts of kindness made my day and inspired me to pay it forward-I paid for the toll for the driver behind me that day and try to remember to smile at those that pass me by. Now I’m not saying this to show how awesome or fortunate I am but rather to demonstrate the impact of bestowing comity among strangers. With this in mind, this weekend I challenge you all to seek out opportunities to make someone’s day a little better and their heart a little lighter. The universe will find a way to bring it back to you-good deeds and good vibes are contagious.
